On January 8, the rare earth standard stable chain experience exchange field promotion meeting was held in Beijing, the meeting was guided by the State Administration for Market Supervision and Administration of Standards and Technology Management Department, the National Rare Earth Standardization Technical Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Rare Earth Standard Committee") hosted by the Non-ferrous Metals Technical and Economic Research Institute Co., LTD.

Cao Yiding said that in 2024, the General Administration of Market Regulation and the National Standards Committee focused on the construction of the modern industrial system and the key industrial chain, and studied and deployed ten major landmark projects for standard chain stability, including more than 120 key core standards, which were completed in two years, and nearly 60 have been completed, and the overall work has been promoted in an orderly manner, and the results of standard chain stability have gradually emerged. Among them, focusing on the high-end demand for rare earth materials, the project has issued 16 national standards such as rare earth permanent magnet materials and rare earth optical functional materials, of which 8 standards have been completed, and the standards have helped the rare earth strong chain project to make positive progress, and a series of high-level standards have strongly supported the high-quality development of the rare earth industry. On the next step to improve the overall level of the industrial chain, he put forward three suggestions.

First, the standard leads the overall level of the rare earth industry chain to improve. For the rare earth strong chain standards that have been released, the relevant units should actively implement the application, and help the upstream and downstream connections of the industrial chain with advanced and applicable standards, promote the localization of high-end products, and improve the overall technical level of the industrial chain. For the standards that have been approved and have not been released, we should fully absorb the extensive participation of upstream and downstream units of the industrial chain, strengthen quality control, and accelerate the development of standards.

Second, continue to promote the internationalization of rare earth standards. It is necessary to rely on the advantages of the International Rare Earth Standardization Technical Committee (ISO/TC298) secretariat platform, continue to expand and deepen cooperation with South Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe and other countries and regions, actively promote the formation of international standard proposals in terms of advantageous rare earth products and mature testing methods, and continue to enhance the international influence and discourse power of China's rare earth industry.

Third, we will continue to promote the chain stability project. The rare earth industry should also start with the on-site promotion of the exchange of experience on the standard chain stability, continue to do a good job in the development of follow-up standards, and strive to release and implement them as soon as possible. In combination with the needs of industrial development, conferences related to the standardization of the rare earth industry chain can be regularly organized, and exchanges and cooperation between upstream and downstream enterprises and units can be strengthened, so as to jointly use standards as a platform to promote the high-quality development of the rare earth industry.

In addition, the rare earth Standard Committee actively implements the internationalization strategy of standards, promotes Chinese standards to "go out", realizes domestic and international dual-wheel drive, consolifies the main position of ISO/TC 298 rare earth international standards, and makes several breakthroughs in the "zero" international standards of rare earth, which greatly enhances the international influence of China's rare earth industry.

He said that the rare earth Standard Committee will continue to adhere to the system layout, adhere to innovation leadership, adhere to application driven, adhere to open cooperation, and the majority of rare earth standardization workers to further build consensus, firm confidence, with hard work to write a new chapter in rare earth standards, and promote the realization of the dream of rare earth power.
